This project was to design & make a Reaction Arm for a Hydraulic Drilling Unit.
A friend needed a 10 foot long ‘Reaction Arm’ for his hydraulic drilling unit so he and his crew could take it into the basement of a historic home in California and drill in foundation stabilizing square shaft helical anchor(s)/pile(s).
After refining the idea we decided on the simple design shown below …
Bill used his trailer to pick up some metal and a 4’x8′ sheet of ply-board for me… So to return the favor I fabricated the Reaction Arm Connection Head.
After the Connection Head was welded together I put the 10 foot long 3″ x 3″ square tubing onto the small lift-table and raised it up to the level of the drill press and drilled holes.
… After a little paint the project was done. 🙂
Hopefully in the future I will have some photos to add of the item in action. 🙂
